Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.” – St. Augustine

Books and travelling are my favourite combination of amazing adventures. Both gives me an indescribable feel of pleasure. So, when I am travelling I have with me at least one book or a guidebook.

Books can be a good way how to turn off and chill out. Give us whole new worlds of fantasy where everything is possible. And this is what I love about books.

I also think that books can mostly define who we are, what we like and what we want – simply our personality. I also have a few books that strongly define what I like and what are my desires and wishes but also gives me a new perspective on the life.

So, if I could choose 6 books that you should take with you while you’re travelling, these would be it.

1| You are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

My favourite book of them all. This book is written by Jen Sincero and she literally gives you a life guide how to become a badass and how to stop doubting yourself and start doing what you always wanted. My reaction after reading this book: ‘Holy moly!’

2| The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

This book is for all who loves Gone Girl. If I should recommend one crime book, this would be it because although The Girl on the Train is a crime book you will not be able to break away from this amazing reading and you’ll read this book before you get to point B. The Girl on the Train won’t leave you underwhelming.

3| Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

To be honest, I haven’t read this book yet, but I saw a movie and I believe that the movie is as amazing as the book. Eat, Pray, Love is my self-love guide and I can’t stop think about it. If you travel, this book (or the movie) is definitely the right to take with you if you want to know how to learn to eat, pray and love.

4| The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho is my favourite author. Maybe it’s because I’ve read almost all his books and maybe it’s because he has the superpower to make you think that you’re really in the story feel everything. And the Alchemist is the prove that everything is possible when we want. It’s another encourage book you should take with you on the train.

5| The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma

I bought the book to my boyfriend at the Christmas and we felt in love both. This book is a little complicated but after you understand the first two chapters, then you will not have a problem to understand the whole book. The Monk is a really inspirational book which takes you on the journey of finding that the wealth is not everything and how to get the life you want.

6| Holy Cow!: An Indian Adventure by Sarah MacDonald

So this book will become your holy guide when you get to India. As a lover of everything Indian, I really enjoyed reading this book. The main character is the author by herself. Once she comes from India, she swears that she never comes back. But after years, she is back in New Delhi, the dirtiest city in the world, to meet her fiancé and maybe finally find the answers on human mortality. If you love adventures and enjoy thinking about human beings questions, this book is for you.

I hope these books will give you the same pleasure on the journeys as me and fill you with the feel of adventurous and  the inspiration. Because this is what books do.

Great list! Eat, pray, love is really cool! The movie was a bit too cheesy for me but the story of Elizabeth Gilbert is fascinating and a terrific example of living life to the fullest!
